Criteria for Grant Assistance from Sligo County Enterprise Board

 

Selective Financial Assistance

The following projects are eligible for assistance:

  • New and existing manufacturing and internationally traded services businesses which over time can develop into strong entities and graduate to the enterprise ireland portfolio.
  • Tourism projects aimed predominantly at overseas markets.
  • Locally provided services promoted by the unemployed or those recently made redundant; such projects must avoid deadweight and displacement.
  • Projects prompted by women re-entering the workforce.
 

Provided...

  • There is a market for the proposed product or service and the business is capable of attaining commercial viability.
  • The project has the capacity to create new direct employment, and that the adequate finance is available to fund the project, including its operating costs.
  • The promoters possess sufficient management and technical capacity to implement the proposed project.
  • The generation of the new employment does not threaten existing local employment.

Ineligible projects and expenditure include:

  • Retail or wholesale outlets.
  • Mainstream professional services.
  • The trades.
  • Projects which involve primary agricultural production.
  • Alternative healthcare practices.
  • Conferences and seminars.
  • Projects which are contrary to public policy.
  • Companies which already have a relationship with Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, SFADCo or Udaras na Gaeltachta.
  • Companies in the Manufacturing or internationally traded services area whose present or potential employment exceeds 10 persons.
  • Accommodation type projects.
