The Mission Statement of the Sligo County Enterprise Board is to generate sustainable employment in the County at large, through development of an enterprise culture, forging of multi-sectoral partnerships, fostering of economic development and provision of direct financial supports.
Sligo County Enterprise Board was established in 1993 under the programme for Local Urban and Rural Development 1994-1999. The Board is currently funded by the Irish Government and the EU structural Funds under the National Development Plan - Micro-enterprise Measure 2000-2006.
The generation of employment is the principle objective of the County Enterprise Board. It operates in the micro-enterprise sector, supporting start-up businesses and the expansion of existing enterprises whose employment potential does not exceed 10 employees.
The County Enterprise Board structure consists of 14 members and includes representatives from small business, government agencies, community groups, farming organisations and the local authorities. |
